Birds of the Same Feather

"Birds of the same feather, flock together."
If you want to be rich, associate yourself with rich people. If you want to be poor, mingle with the poor all day long. Keep yourself inspired with the right company. Surround yourself in the circles of happy folks. Share your stories with them, be inspired by them. In due time you will find that more and more people like yourself are standing by you. A total change in attitude, a new perspective unfolds, a new horizon awakens. Then you can see it more clearly, a brighter world within your eyes. Then you find that more and more positive people are attracted to you. No, you do not abandon your negative folks, you just attract more of the opposite. Surround yourself with negative people, share their thoughts, grumble with them, sympathize with their complaints. "This is to blame, that has this fault, it is because of them, of them, of them!" In no time you would be just like them, cursing everybody for the misfortunes you had, and more coming ahead in the future!

I remembered this saying last night, at a committee meeting in our community. Our Association's founding has really been a big mess lately, due to scrupulous persons who knew nothing but to pull others' leg back instead of helping them. Typical crab mentality, that is. All our frustrations are creeping in, until somebody spoke up, "We must not mind them. "They just wanted us down, so they can feel right about themselves." In an instant we all changed our vibration, from gloomy to inspired. He was right. We were doing the right thing. They were just complaining.

I was so thankful for the idea. The person that I was, who should be practicing what I teach was down at that moment. Maybe because of the stress of such hard task at hand. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I was so grateful for those remarks. In the end we had a very productive evening. And I woke up feeling more refreshed and energized, willing to do my part in our huge undertaking which was by the way free, gratis, community service. Now history shall judge us, as forerunners who bravely stood up when no one else was willing to start the ball rolling. The founders of our future.

"Form a mastermind group. This is a group of people of like mind as you. Get together frequently and exchange ideas, materials and motivation. Where two or more are gathered, the power multiplies and the power of the whole is more than the sum of the power of the parts. A mastermind group is very powerful. It multiplies the power of each participant greatly."
